Ovolo continues to disrupt with new cancellation policies

In 2010, award winning design-led hotel collection Ovolo disrupted the hotel space with its freebie policy.

Now, it is continuing that trend with Ovolo giving guests more of what they want through a new price match guarantee and a flexible cancellation policy coupled with the existing freebies.

As part of Ovolo’s mission to deliver the ultimate effortless customer experience, Ovolo ie enhancing its signature ‘freebies’ (which include free in-room mini bar, social happy hour, WiFi, self-laundry, breakfast and 24 hour gym access), by rolling out two disruptive policies across Ovolo Hotels in Australia and Hong Kong.

One of the offerings is the new rate policy. When booking directly via the website (ovolohotels.com), Ovolo says it can guarantee prospective visitors receive the cheapest rate available on their website.

On top of that, if the rate decreases from the time the room was booked to the time of check in, Ovolo will gift the lucky visitor the difference in credit to spend anywhere at Ovolo.

“This generous act gives the customer new found freedom to spend that credit wherever the wind takes them – be it the bar, restaurant or even cheeky late-night room service – Ovolo is your oyster,” an Ovolo spokesperson said.

Ovolo has also rolled out a new 48-hour cancellation policy, with the spokesperson saying “it’s a typical trait to try and forger up a fib when altering or cancelling a reservation, to avoid those hard-hitting cancellation fees”.

“Not here, not now. Ovolo’s new policy means there’s no need to get creative with the excuses, just let them know and a small fee will be charged for either cancelling or swapping a room prior to your stay,” the spokesperson said.

Ovolo Founder and CEO, Girish Jhunjhnuwala, said the latest offering “is proof that Ovolo is determined to break the mould of what is a very traditional, cookie cutter and slow to react industry, whilst continuing to listen to their customers in an effort to create an effortless hotel experience”.
