Work is now underway on the Gold Coast as Quest Apartment Hotels commenced construction at its first property on Queensland’s glitter strip this week.

Developed by Pellicano, the eight-storey building will offer 80 serviced apartments ranging from studio up to two-bedrooms in size. A further 24 apartments will be set aside for residential, with owners also able to take advantage of hotel services offered within the building. A two-level basement car park will also serve the property, which is scheduled to open next year.

To be located in Robina, slightly inland from the coast but adjacent to the major Pacific Highway, the new Quest Robina will also be situated near Spotless Stadium, Robina train station and Robina Town Centre – the region’s main shopping precinct.

Quest Apartment Hotels General Manager – Growth, James Shields, said the construction was timely as business trips to the Gold Coast had climbed 6.5 per cent in the last six years, with business travellers now making up over 10 per cent of the arrivals market.

“This provides a wonderful opportunity for Quest Robina to provide quality accommodation to meet this demand,” he added.

Gold Coast City Councillor Hermann Vorster said the project would be the perfect fit for the continually emerging Robina centre.

“The development will capitalise on Robina’s reputation as an emerging sporting, health and commercial centre and is ideally placed on great public transport.”
