AccorHotels is a proud supporter of the Mardi Gras Festival each year, as “Shebeast” indicates.

Gavin Loveday – Associate Director of Sales & Marketing at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park and also known as drag queen “Shebeast” – has been enlisted by AccorHotels to help the company promote its involvement as the Official Accommodation Partner of the 2019 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival.

AccorHotels properties across the Sydney CBD are being invited to decorate and animate their lobbies in support of the festival, which runs from 15 February to 04 March. The iconic parade is scheduled for 02 March and will once again begin from the Pullman Hotel.

To further mark the occasion, Pullman Sydney Hyde Park and Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour will both be adorned with a rainbow pedestrian crossing across their entrance driveways. The latter was celebrated in 2017 by decorating its rooftop with a giant “Yes” message, in favour of that year’s Same Sex Marriage Plebiscite.

The hotel giant is a known supporter of the LGBTQI+ community, embraces diversity and champions the cause by hosting events such as Diversity Week, Pride Marches and Pride Games.

AccorHotels COO Pacific, Simon McGrath, said the company was once again thrilled to be joining forces with the festival and everything for which it stands.

“As Australia’s largest hotel group, we are proud to take a leadership role in championing diversity and inclusivity. For us, accepting diversity is not enough. Instead, we celebrate and encourage the diversity of our people and guests each day.”
