Event Hospitality and Entertainment Limited has entered into an agreement to manage one of Melbourne’s most historic hotels, The Victoria Hotel.
Located on Little Collins St, the property owned by the Schwartz Family Company property, is currently branded as ibis Styles Melbourne, The Victoria Hotel.
As of February 1, 2018, the hotel will be managed alongside Event’s current stable of hotels and resorts across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom that includes the Rydges, QT and Atura brands.
“The Victoria Hotel has played a crucial role in Melbourne’s tourism development over the past 130 years and its combination of prime city location and warm hospitality has made it one of the city’s most popular hotels, particularly for visitors from country Victoria and NSW,” Dr Schwartz said.
“We are excited to appoint EVENT to run this hotel given our long-standing and successful relationship with them across a number of other properties they manage for us.”
Event Hospitality and Entertainment’s Director of Hotel and Resorts Operations, Norman Arundel, welcomed the management agreement announcement.
“Event Hospitality and Entertainment is delighted to add this Melbourne icon to our stable of hotels and resorts,” he said.
“Like the Capitol Square Hotel in Sydney, we operate a number of hotels which are not under one of our group brands, as such and in light of the hotel’s deep history we will adopt its original branding as The Victoria Hotel.”
