Western Sydney’s newest property, Skye Hotel Suites Parramatta, has partnered with Assa Abloy Hospitality and Intelity to provide its guests with state-of-the-art digital key functionality.

With the implementation of Assa Abloy Hospitality Mobile Access in 72 of its apartment-style suites, along with the use of Intelity’s downloadable mobile app, the property can now allow guests to quickly and conveniently enter their room with a swipe of their mobile device.

“As a hotel that was created to provide its guests with a modern and chic experience, implementing mobile access technology made complete sense to us as it represents one of the most popular and in demand service trends within hospitality today,” said Skye Hotel Suites Director of Hotels and Suites, Wayne Taranto.

“Yet as a new technology, we wanted to make sure that we could rely on vendors with a reputation for excellence, reliability and the ability to ensure total guest satisfaction, which is precisely what we have found in working with both Assa Abloy Hospitality and Intelity.”

Designed to streamline the check-in experience by allowing guests to sidestep front desk lines to receive a guestroom key, Assa Abloy Hospitality Mobile Access operates using Seos technology to provide a service that is as secure as it is convenient.

At the Skye Hotel Suites Parramatta, the solution works by generating an encrypted digital key that is transmitted to guest smart devices and safely stored in a key vault on Intelity’s guest-facing mobile app.

When presented to the appropriate door lock, the app then transmits digital key information via Bluetooth and over a secure communication channel, ensuring only authorized users are able to gain access.

“Hotels all over the world are seeing that mobile guest engagement is one of the most solid ways to build customer loyalty, and they are eager to deploy the latest mobile tools to help with that dynamic interaction,” said Intelity CEO and President David Adelson.

“Through our integration partnership with Assa Abloy Hospitality, Intelity is equipping the Skye Hotel Suites with all the components needed to enable the mobile guest journey, including Mobile Check-in and Mobile Key.

“With Intelity’s MiKEY mobile app, Skye Hotel Suites guests can bypass the front desk, go straight to their rooms and use their smartphones to unlock the hotel’s Bluetooth-enabled Assa Abloy Hospitality door lock.

“This joint technology is adding considerable value to travelers and it’s providing the hotel with a direct communication link to guests.

“The Skye Hotel Suites is among the first properties in Australia to go live with MiKEY, and with Assa Abloy Hospitality as our valued partner, we anticipate many more installations to come in the future,” Adelson said.

Assa Abloy Hospitality Mobile Access and Intelity’s mobile app were additionally implemented alongside VingCard Signature RFID door locks, a future-proof platform able to be effortlessly upgraded to mobile access functionality whenever needed and offering the latest in secure keycard encryption technology.

With Visionline also installed, hotel employees further gain an advanced security access software solution that provides for more secure and efficient hotel operations.

The system provides the ability for front desk staff to remotely monitor all room access attempts in real time, and allows users to instantly deactivate any key suspected of being stolen or used in an unauthorised manner.

Visionline is integrated with a hotel’s PMS platform and is also responsible for generating and assigning digital guestroom keys.
