One week after hosting the company’s most successful franchise conferences to date, the AccorHotels Franchise Team has won the Team Service Award in AccorHotels coveted Australian Hotel Awards.

The awards recognise top performing hotels, outstanding achievements by teams and accomplishments of individuals. In keeping with AccorHotels focus on sustainability, this year’s awards were announced over webinar by Simon McGrath, Chief Operating Officer for AccorHotels Pacific, and Sarah Derry, Vice President of Talent and Culture Australia.

The winner of the prestigious Chris Frost Memorial Award for AccorHotels Ambassadors was awarded to Adriano Miyado, front office manager at ibis Styles Karratha. Adriano has been the backbone of the hotel while it has been transitioning through new team management and has taken the lead on operations.

The Sebel Mandurah won the Best Loyalty Performance Hotel for 2017 and has excelled in developing a disciplined, systematic yet flexible approach to delivering on loyalty promises. Novotel Sydney Central took out the Most Improved Loyalty Hotel Performance award for re-shaping the way the team acknowledges its loyalty guests.

In one of the most hotly debated and anticipated awards, the winner of Outstanding Performance in Food and Beverage went to 16 Antlers at Pullman & Mercure King George Square. With an investment of $250,000, the hotel transformed their under-utilised rooftop deck into a thriving rooftop bar which is consistently listed in the top 10 places to go in Brisbane.

Simon McGrath said the Hotel Awards are a credit to the General Managers, HR teams and hotel employees who go above and beyond to deliver an obsessive level of customer service.

“This is our opportunity to acknowledge and applaud our employees for their ongoing enthusiasm and commitment to AccorHotels, and it is pleasing to see so many people nominated in this year’s awards.

“It was an honour to award the AccorHotels Australia Franchise Team, led by Danesh Bamji, with the newly created Team Service Award. The support Danesh and his team lends to our 100 franchise hotels around Australia is extraordinary and it really defines what it means to be part of AccorHotels.

“Every day we have over 10,000 talented employees who live and breathe hospitality and customer service, and to those employees, thank you for your commitment to AccorHotels and congratulations again to all of the winners in this year’s Australian Hotel Awards”.
