InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) CEO, Keith Barr, says the company’s recent management changes – including moving Asian leadership to within the Europe, Middle East and Africa division – is about “making sure internationally we are set up for success”.

Speaking exclusively on video to HM at the 2017 Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) in Hong Kong this week (Oct 18), Barr said it was about success in individual countries, noting Japan operates different to Thailand, Australia and Indonesia.

In the interview, he also spoke about the launch of Kimpton in Asia-Pacific, more brand signings at HICAP, technology, the debut of Avid Hotels and much more.
