AccorHotels’ COO Pacific, Simon McGrath, says the company is experiencing significant growth in its franchise business, with 10 new hotels coming on board in 2015 alone.

Speaking exclusively to HM on video at Accor’s 2015 Franchising Conference at Voyages Ayers Rock Resort, McGrath said that growth was not going to slow down, with the company soon to hit 100 franchise properties in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, representing around a third of all hotels Accor operates in the region.

The new hotels to have joined the franchise network include The Sebel Pelican Waters Golf Resort and Spa, The Sebel South Brisbane, Novotel Wollongong, Mercure Warragul, Mercure Launceston, Mercure Wellington Abel Tasman, Mercure Goulburn, Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre, ibis Styles Invercargill and ibis Styles Ballarat.

New-build franchise hotels set to open in coming months include Novotel New Plymouth Hobson (Dec 2015), and Elements of Byron MGallery Collection (Feb 2016), The Sebel Yarrawonga (2018) and Pullman and ibis Brisbane Airport (2017).

In the exclusive video, McGrath talks about AccorHotels’ franchising edge and much more.
