Accor Asia Pacific’s Chairman and CEO, Michael Issenberg, has been awarded the International Hotelier of the Year for 2014 at the China Hotel Investment Conference (CHIC).
Over 860 CEOs and leaders of the industry from 28 countries attended CHIC event, now in its tenth year.
The CHIC award acknowledges the industry leaders, rising talent and the hotels raising the benchmark. CHIC said Issenberg was chosen for the award in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the hospitality industry.
“I am honoured to receive this award at a time when Accor is very focused on its growth in China,” Issenberg said.
“We currently have a network of 135 hotels in China and this will double in coming years so we are very excited about the future of hospitality in China.”
Issenberg was the HM Magazine Asia-Pacific Hotelier of the Year at the 2012 HM Awards.
