The last two Formule1 hotels in Australia have re-branded to Ibis Budget, signalling the end of an era for Accor’s economy brand.
Ibis Budget East Sydney and Ibis Budget Sydney Airport were the last remaining Formule1’s to re-badge and since the introduction of the Ibis mega-brand structure, Ibis Budget has grown to 19 hotels in Australia with former Formule1 hotels falling under the new banner.
Following Accor’s consolidation of its economy hotel portfolio, the group has been progressively refurbishing former Formule1 hotels and bringing them into line with what has become expected of budget hotels in Europe and America.
