Outrigger is considering launching a new urban brand for city locations across Asia-Pacific.

In the wake of the company’s growth in key Asian destinations such as Phuket and Bali, Outrigger is looking at a new brand given the strong development demand for hotels in the region.

Speaking to HM exclusively at the recent HICAP Conference in Hong Kong (Oct 17), Outrigger’s President and CEO Dave Carey said a new urban brand was a strong possibility.

“We’ve had a big debate in our company about should the Outrigger brand, which has been known for being Hawaii and beachfront, work in a city or not,” he said.

“If we did it right, we think it might, but we’re also working on another brand that maybe would work in some of the cities that would serve the [urban] market.”

In the video interview, Carey also spoke about the growth for the company, expansion in leisure destinations and much more.
