Sea Sentosa by Sentosa Worldwide Resorts has won the title of ‘World’s Best Apartment’ at the International Property Awards in London.

Sea Sentosa at Echo Beach in Bali is due to open in July 2013. Set on 2.8 hectares of beachfront property, the fully integrated resort will provide guests with a choice of one or two bedroom apartments and three bedroom penthouses.

Sentosa Worldwide Resorts’ CEO, Ian Duffell, said the company was ecstatic with the Award.

“We are thrilled to have won ‘World’s Best Apartment’ at the International Property Awards,” he said. “To be acknowledged among the world’s best is already a huge honour.

“We are enormously gratified and proud that our work has been recognised internationally as the very best in the industry.”

Sea Sentosa is a collaborative project between some of the world’s most highly regarded designers, who have put their heads and hearts together to create something extraordinary in luxurious beachfront apartment living.

“At Sea Sentosa we have created a model for integrated resorts of the future. We are offering a luxury resort lifestyle whilst remaining sensitive to the natural environment. Our aim in all our projects is to create a lifestyle community,” Duffell said.

The project is being led by Duffell, who formerly worked with Richard Branson for 12 years, initially as the CEO of Virgin Asia Pacific and then as the CEO of the Virgin Entertainment Group in the USA.

Sydney-based Duffell, who has been at the helm of the Sentosa Group as CEO since 2009, was joined at the Awards ceremony in London by Sentosa Worldwide Resorts Founder Saxon Looker.

“I had an idea of where I wanted to go with the concept for Sea Sentosa,” Looker said. “But knew I couldn’t get there by myself.

“By bringing together some incredible artistic talent, this project has exceeded my wildest estimations.

“It was a tremendous honor to have won ‘World’s Best Apartment’ at the International Property Awards and an acknowledgement and tribute to our amazing team.”

The International Property Awards are open to residential and commercial property professionals from around the globe.

This year, entries were received from a total of 89 countries and there were 63 judges on the judging panel headed by the Panel Chairman, Sir David Michels who is the president of the Hilton foundation and has served as the Senior European Strategist of Strategic Hotels and Resorts.
