Mantra on Russell's Regan Shawcross with cut out Pat and the legendary Pat Rafter

Mantra’s seven Melbourne hotels were certainly top of mind for tennis lovers this year with a $200,000 increase in revenue reported compared to the same event period last year, proving the newly appointed Ambassador, tennis legend Pat Rafter is making a big impact on the travellers.

“We ran an exceptional average occupancy of 97% across the seven Melbourne properties,” Mantra Group CEO, Bob East told HM.

“We achieved across the seven properties an Average Rate growth of 10% year-on-year for the 14 day tennis period – double the Melbourne market rate growth for the same event period.

“The standout performer was Mantra on the Park, with achieved very strong year-on-year results with a 20% RevPAR growth year-on-year, a great result having recently completed a AUD$4 million refurbishment to all 144 one- and two-bedroom apartments and the three-bedroom penthouse,” he said.

East said along with the strong performances in Melbourne, the association with Rafter had exceeded all expectations.

“Pat Rafter is both extremely well respected and well liked by Australians and to have him associated with Mantra speaks volumes – our customers have responded with great interest and we are proud to working with him,” he said.
