Qantas CEO Alan Joyce

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce is set to don the cooking apron and help feed Sydney’s homeless and disadvantaged as part of the inaugural CEO CookOff being held at St Mary’s Cathedral on February 6.

Joyce’s involvement is part of Qantas’ sponsorship of the event which is bringing together hundreds of CEOs to cook – in groups of ten and partnered with chefs – for over 1000 Sydneysiders in need.

“This is a great opportunity for Australia’s corporate leaders to experience a first-hand connection with the needy and less fortunate by preparing their meals and breaking bread with them,” Joyce said.

The CEO CookOff, being held in Cathedral Square in front of St Mary’s, is being directed by Qantas’ ambassador, Neil Perry from Rockpool, and will feature 30 prominent chefs, including Peter Gilmore, Guillaume Brahimi, Bill Granger and Maggie Beer.

Funds raised at the CEO CookOff will be shared between OzHarvest and Mission Australia.
