A Hostec student

Leading Sydney-based recruitment and training company Hostec International has sold a major component of its business – the Talent Solutions and Learning Solutions workforce divisions – to the Untamed group and placed its Hostec Academy business in voluntary administration.

Headed-up by CEO Ian Wilson, Hostec has been a leader in the human resources sector for over a decade across both recruitment and training, most recently having partnered with a number of hotel chains through the Hostec Academy.

The Hostec Academy business ceased trading on June 24, 2011 and DYE & CO Pty Ltd were appointed joint and several administrators of Hospitality and Training Pty Ltd.

The acquisition of the Talent Solutions and Learning Solutions side of the business by Untamed is great news for both the workers at Hostec and students, with international students finishing on schedule at the end of 2011.

“Over the past two years, the number of international students studying hospitality/tourism in Australia has rapidly declined,” said Untamed group CEO, Mark Hutchinson. “Hostec has systematically wound down international student training and has today announced the acquisition of its recruitment, training and traineeship businesses by leading tourism training and sustainability educators (the) Untamed Group.

“Untamed group have employed the entire Talent Solutions and Learning Solutions team. All trainees within traineeships will continue as usual.

“Current International students will finish their program by the end of 2011 as scheduled (and) the Talent Solutions division will also continue to function as before,” he said.
