Quest recently opened its 35th location in New Zealand at Palmerston North.

Quest Apartment Hotels New Zealand has introduced a digital key function to its app in as part of efforts to implement contactless solutions and improve guest experience.

The digital key allows guests to independently access their room when it is ready, bypassing the traditional check-in desk.

Quest teamed up with technology company Liverton to create a digital key prioritising security and functionality.

Careful not to lose its personal touch, Quest sends every new app user a welcome email from Quest Group General Manager, Adrian Turner, when they sign up. Guests can then use this email address to provide any feedback or to ask questions.

“When we launched the Quest app in 2019, it was to make booking a room at Quest easy,” Turner said.

“As the app evolves we are always looking for ways to enhance the guest experience at Quest. The addition of this technology will allow a Quest guest to access the property and their room seamlessly, especially after hours.”

“This is solution is now live at Quest Highbrook, and we will be working with our newer properties that we opened during the pandemic being Quest Palmerston North, Quest Takapuna, Quest Mt Eden, and Quest Queenstown that are all mobile key ready, to roll this technology out as soon as possible.”

At all other Quest properties in New Zealand, locking systems will be upgraded in due course to take advantage of this technology.
