Courtyard by Marriott Brisbane South Bank features 134 guest rooms.

Marriott International has capped off a huge week of signings for its upscale Courtyard by Marriott brand, announcing a new franchise agreement which will see the brand debut in in Brisbane from early 2021.

To be located on Vulture Street, south of the Brisbane River, the deal with The Horan Group will see the opening of the 134-room Courtyard by Marriott Brisbane, South Bank following a conversion project to align the property with brand standards. Under the deal, the Horan Group will continue to operate the property.

Guest facilities at the new hotel will include the all-day Café63 restaurant, a fitness centre, heated swimming pool and flexible meeting space overlooking the river and the South Bank parklands.

The lobby at Courtyard by Marriott Brisbane will undergo a refurbishment to align it with brand standards.

Courtyard by Marriott Brisbane, South Bank will be the company’s fifth hotel in the Queensland capital but the first under the upscale Courtyard label. It will also be Marriott’s first Brisbane property to be located south of the river.

Marriott International Area Vice President, Sean Hunt, said the signing asserts its dominance in the city as the company grows into the growing southern suburbs for the first time.

“The hotel occupies an enviable position and will complement the current offering in the market with strong accommodation demand drivers from South Brisbane’s medical precinct, local corporate activity and events-based tourism.”

Courtyard by Marriott Brisbane South Bank features an indoor heated swimming pool.

The latest signing follows the announcement earlier this week of two new Courtyard by Marriott properties which will sit either side of Melbourne in the outer-metropolitan suburbs of Mulgrave and Truganina.
