Tourism Australia Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison.

Australia’s tourism industry has been thrown a much-needed lifeline, thanks to a new major domestic marketing campaign dubbed Holiday Here This Year, one that’s aimed at getting Aussies out and about and experiencing more of the nation.

Talking exclusively on camera to HM and sister publication Wayfarer on the sidelines of the launch of Holiday Here This Year – fronted by media personalities Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster-Blake – Tourism Australia Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison, said the new, AU$7 million push was about encouraging Australians to see more of the nation and in turn, provide a much-needed boost to tourism businesses and operators.

She said the time is “now right to promote domestic travel around the nation”, as borders open between states and territories and airlines take to the skies once more.
