Six new franchised Australian hotels have rebranded and been admitted to the Choice Hotels Asia-Pac portfolio in the network’s latest expansion.

The group consists of five hotels in Melbourne and regional Victoria alongside a sixth in regional New South Wales, with two each joining three different brands within the Choice family.

The company’s Ascend Hotel Collection has been bolstered with two new members in Alto Hotel on Bourke in the Melbourne CBD, situated within the heritage listed Australian Railway Union building. The property is the first certified as carbon-neutral in Australia and maintains a variety of green initiatives including 100% renewable energy, electric vehicle charging, rainwater harvesting and rooftop beehives to supply restaurants with fresh honey.

Adding to the brand also is the Domi Serviced Apartments in Glen Waverley, which itself is housed inside the Galleria Apartments on the city edge. The hotel features European laundries and uniquely designed interiors along with luxury bathrooms.

Econo Lodge Savannah Park Tamworth features a swimming pool shaped like a guitar.

Two new members of the Quality brand have also been added to the Choice Hotels Asia-Pac group in the Quality Hotel Carlton and Quality Apartments Dandenong, both catering to leisure and corporate travellers across a variety of room varieties.

Choice’s Econo Lodge brand is the third brand to have its membership boosted, with the fifth Victorian property to join being the Econo Lodge Lilydale in the city’s northeast. In NSW, the Econo Lodge Savannah Park Tamworth is the state’s newest member, bringing its unique country music flavour to the brand. The property, originally opened by country music icon Slim Dusty, features a guitar-shaped swimming pool and family-owned restaurant.

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO, Trent Fraser, said the company was thrilled to be welcoming the six hotels to its diverse collection of properties.

“Our paramount focus during these challenging times is to support our franchisees – both new and existing – and let them know we are with them every step of the way as we journey through this crisis, and through the other side,” he said.
