Canberra-based brand Iconic Hotels is putting the finishing touches on its seventh property under the Abode brand, with the brand set to expand to the NSW South Coast town of Malua Bay, just south of Batemans Bay.

The four-star Abode Malua Bay will offer 52 rooms, many with ocean views, and is situated on the beachfront. All rooms will offer a kitchenette along with washing machine and clothes dryer, as well as being bike, surfboard and pet-friendly to encourage leisure-seekers to bring the entire family.

The move serves as an economic kickstart for a region badly affected by recent bushfires and a strong indication that interest from hotel investors has all but returned.

Iconic Hotels General Manager, Rien Donkin, said the company was committed to helping the greater South Coast recover from recent trials by offering visitors a new reason to holiday in the area.

“The addition of Abode Malua Bay to the hotel portfolio is highly anticipated by our existing guests seeking a seaside stay and further diversifies our offering for new domestic and international visitors,” Donkin said.
