Round-the-clock concierge and bellman services will herald guests’ arrival at 1 Hotel Melbourne.

Guests of eco-luxury brand 1 Hotels will enjoy a selection of perks available to permanent residents when its maiden property opens within the riverfront Seafarers complex in Melbourne in 2022, the company has revealed today.

The collection of apartments fronting the city’s Yarra River – by development brand Riverlee – will comprise 280 guest rooms for short and extended-stay guests as well as 129 residential apartments backed by a range of hotel-style amenities including a wellness centre with day spa facilities and treatments, fitness centre, swimming pool and sauna. Seafarers will also offer a number of food and beverage options, a lobby lounge bar, health centre, ground-floor retail and dining options as well as Seafarers Rest – a 3,500sqm waterfront public park.

Seafarers will front Melbourne’s Yarra River and is due to open in 2022.

Riverlee Development Director, David Lee, said 1 Hotel Melbourne would be the last waterfront opportunity in the Melbourne CBD and would be a brand unlike anything Melbourne had seen before.

“It seemed only fitting to partner with a hotel brand that values sustainability with the utmost importance – a brand that inspires residences, hotel guests, and visitors to live better by using less and as a developer, inspires us to deliver something that is not only sympathetic to the history of the site but supports long term ecological balance.”

Permanent residents will have access to a number of exclusive facilities not available to hotel guests on an a la carte basis including private catering, personal shopping services, botanical care, pet services, dry cleaning, pharmacy and in-room dining. The building will feature a 24-hour concierge, bellman services, in-house personal training, massage services and beauty treatments. Priority hotel reservations, special rates, room upgrades and reciprocal signing benefits at 1 Hotels’ global property network will also be on the table for permanent residents.

The 1 Hotels brand is the brainchild of Barry Sternlicht, who also created the W Hotels brand now owned and operated by Marriott International.

Seafarers Residences and 1 Hotel Melbourne is scheduled to open in 2022.
