Curtains have been pulled back briefly at Hotel Chadstone Melbourne as the MGallery by Sofitel property completes its final checks before its grand November 1 opening next month.

In what will be the only five-star hotel located outside of the Melbourne CBD, the $130 million, 250-room property will become the 11th and newest Australian member of the MGallery by Sofitel collection of boutique and evocative properties. Rooms are decorated in a style befitting a European fashion house with leather detailing, bespoke seating and custom lighting.

Among the accommodation selection will be two penthouses, a wellness centre, day spa and yoga studio. On the roof will be a bar, swimming pool and private cabanas along with a fine dining restaurant with eye-catching artwork such as a seven-tier wine glass chandelier. The restaurant itself will be an Italian-inspired creation from famed restaurateur Scott Pickett, who has designed an all-day menu around woodfire-fuelled cooking and handmade pasta.

The 12-storey property sits approx 17kms from the Melbourne CBD, close to a broad range of dining, shopping, entertainment and recreation facilities.

Hotel Chadstone MGallery by Sofitel General Manager, Neil Scanlan, said the new address will soon set a higher benchmark for luxury accommodation outside of the CBD.

“The exquisite interior fit-out of Hotel Chadstone has been completed and we are very excited to be nearing opening day.”
