Customised training programs developed by Tim Robards – best known to some as Australia’s first contestant on The Bachelor – in line with a series of Asia-Pacific marathon events have been released in collaboration with Westin Hotels and Resorts.

The programs have been released to coincide with the upcoming Melbourne Marathon Festival on 13 October but will extend to other events in Shanghai in November and Tokyo in March 2020. Westin was recently confirmed as the exclusive hotel partner of the Melbourne Marathon Festival.

Members of Marriott Bonvoy will be able to access the programs during stays with Westin Melbourne, with personalised programs incorporating techniques and tips to ‘Sleep Well’, nutrition plans to ‘Eat Well’ and exercises to ‘Move Well’, which all form part of The Robards Method. Programs are available online via the Marriott Bonvoy Moments platform through either purchasing or redeeming loyalty points.

Buyers of the packages will also receive weekly check-ins and progress reports, entry to the marathon on 13 October and a Westin-branded racer bib, workout apparel, access to Westin Workout classes and access to Run Westin jogs, led by the hotel’s Run Concierge.

On the day of the marathon itself, guests will also be able to access a Westin Hospitality Space where they can partake in Eat Well refreshments, energy-boosting foods, physio recovery sessions and a post-race celebration, regardless of the distance completed.

Marriott International Area Vice President Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Sean Hunt, said the company was delighted to be working with Robards and catering further to the needs of guests.

“Westin Hotels & Resorts continually pushes guests’ wellbeing needs to the forefront and this is another example of how the brand works with established wellness partners to provide authentic offerings to enhance guest wellbeing and enrich their travel experience.”
