It’s an exciting time for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), with the company continuing to acquire and grow under CEO Keith Barr, who has been at the helm of the company since July 2017.

Over the last 12 months alone, the company has launched two new brands (Avid and Voco) and acquired two luxury brands in Regent and Six Senses. There has also been significant growth on the lifestyle and boutique front with Kimpton making its European debut and soon, its first foray into Asia-Pacific.

For Barr, who was the VP of Operations for Australia some 10 years ago, it is about strengthening the company’s existing brands, launching new brands (another is coming later in 2019), acquiring companies and growing with the right partners that will bolster the IHG business in the best segments across the world.

To find out about the recent growth and what’s coming next, HM and sister publication Wayfarer spoke to Barr in Europe on video recently (exclusively screened first at AHICE last week).
