The HM Awards is the preeminent event in the accommodation industry's annual calendar.
Top performers in the Australasian and Pacific hotel industry will be named on Friday 06 September.

Another year of hard work and hopefully no blood, sweat and tears will hopefully pay off as HM today announced the two-week countdown is on until nominations open for the 2019 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence presented by Sealy Posturepedic.

The gala evening will be themed ‘That’s Showtime’ and will return to the International Convention Centre in Sydney for the second time, taking place on Friday 06 September 2019. For the first time, the HM Awards will feature an Earlybird ticket price, allowing the industry to save money on individual tickets and tables of ten.

Opening on 01 May, we will flick the switch on www.hmawards.com.au and open nominations to the industry to put forward contenders for nearly 50 categories acknowledging the toil and efforts put in by every member of the industry, from Housekeeping up to General Manager roles.

Categories recognising IT, Finance, Revenue Management, Engineering, Rising Stars and many other roles in hotel operations will be awarded to deserving individuals, while dozens of property gongs will go to the best hotels in categories from Economy hotels, through Midscale, Upscale, Upper-Upscale and all the way up to Luxury. Lodges and Regional properties will also be rewarded with their own categories, as will hotel day spas, restaurants, bars and many more.

It all culminates in the major awards of the evening, which see the naming of the best hotels and hoteliers in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific named and awarded for their achievements leading the best properties in the region.

“The HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence annually recognise the finest people, departments and properties across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific,” said HM Magazine Editor-In-Chief and HM Awards Co-founder, James Wilkinson.

“This year we are again looking forward to acknowledging and rewarding some brilliant and talented people, exceptional teams and outstanding properties across the region.

“For the past 15 years, the goal of the HM Awards has been to acknowledge the brightest stars in the hotel industry and that’s what the event will do again at ICC Sydney on September 6,” he said.

Nominations open on 01 May with finalists announced on 29 July. For a taste of what is in store on the night, check out the official video from last year’s gala evening.
