Wyndham Destinations teams up with HeartKids

Around 64,000 Australians live with congenital heart disease, the condition heavily affecting newborns.

Charitable and humanitarian endeavours from the Wishes by Wyndham philanthropic foundation will be conducted for the benefit of HeartKids in Q1 2019, the company has announced.

HeartKids is a registered profit-for-purpose charity which works to support the lives of people living with congenital heart disease. Up to eight babies are born with the condition every day, with no cure currently existing. In addition to supporting medical treatment and accommodation for families during associated periods, HeartKids also funds research into the condition and advocates for the needs of impacted families.

Wishes by Wyndham has raised over $335,000 for partner charities in the last seven years. The company will work with HeartKids for the first quarter of 2019 by assisting in the organisation of events and fundraisers alongside its internal employee giving program. The tie-up will also help to raise awareness of the condition in communities around Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific Senior Vice President PR, Communications and Corporate Marketing, Ross Nicholas, said the hotel group was delighted to be assisting HeartKids for the first three months of the year.

“Staff across the business are really looking forward to raising awareness and vital funds for the important services HeartKids provides to children, teens and adults affected by congenital heart disease.”
