Chinese hospitality group Wanda Hotels & Resorts has unveiled Wanda Moments – a new midscale chain hotel brand – along with plans to open as many as 700 hotels under the new marque around China over the next five years.

The new brand is the group’s fifth and will be a sister brand to the existing Wanda Reign, Wanda Vista, Wanda Realm and Wanda Jin. Wanda Moments will be integrated into the organisation’s Wanda Club loyalty program.

Wanda Moments comes as the group continues its divestment strategy to an asset-light model where it will manage hotels instead of owning them. The new brand, which carries a motto of “Better for tomorrow”, is aimed at business travellers seeking an interactive stay experience along with high service standards and contemporary hotel design.

At the same time, Wanda Group announced a significant upgrade to the group’s Wanda Club loyalty program. Based on their points balance, members will now be distributed across four loyalty tiers – Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum – with available rewards, discounts and exclusive bonuses progressing higher as a member moves up the tiers.

In addition, points will now be accrued through additional on-premises transactions such as dining, banquets and meeting room bookings as well as accommodation. Points can also be redeemed for a wider range of benefits including room upgrades, dining products, air miles conversions and free movie tickets at Wanda Cinemas across China.

Agreements have already been signed with owners for the first six Wanda Moments hotels, the company said.
