Significant upgrade works are being planned by Best Western President Auckland’s new owners.

Best Western President Hotel in Auckland will soon undergo a multi-million dollar renovation and upgrade which will see the hotel star rating improve from three to five under new owner CPG Hotels.

The upgrade of the 1998-opened hotel will be carried out in stages and is expected to be complete by 2020. The hotel will remain open throughout, however management have confirmed measures are being put in place to minimise guest disruption, such as buffer floors.

Mandala Design has been engaged to oversee the project, tasked with designing a “chic urban oasis” and a unique guest experience. Improvement works will include the development of new one and two-bedroom apartment-style room types designed to fit in with the rapidly expanding surrounding area, which will soon see a Metro station opened along with new dining and entertainment options.

“We know that there’s an increasing appetite for this style of accommodation at a premium level so we can’t wait to introduce the new President Hotel Auckland in 2020,” CPG Hotels Special Projects Manager David Thompson said.

CPH Hotels holds a purely New Zealand portfolio at present, with 12 hotels in six locations across the country.
