Local and international fashion industry luminaries will stay at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour after the hotel signed on as the Official Hotel Partner of the 2018 Australian Fashion Laureate.
Taking place on 20 November at the Sydney State Theatre, the event recognises and celebrates outstanding achievement, talent and creativity by Australian designers and fashion industry personnel working around the world.
Categories in which a winner will be selected include Lifetime Achievement, Womenswear, Menswear, Retail, Emerging Designer, Accessories, Model of the Year and Outstanding Editorial. The latter two are brand new categories being judged for the first time in 2018.
Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour will provide accommodation for those attending the event. General Manager Greg Brady said the Sofitel name aligned well with luxury fashion.

Major nominees include Camilla Franks and Kym Ellery who are in the nominee pool for Australian Fashion Laureate Lifetime Achievement Award.
