Data will be able to be better understood via a new William Angliss mini-course.

Hotel industry education provider William Angliss Institute has unveiled a new mini-course designed to help students better interpret data.

The Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) is offered as an optional add-on to individuals studying the resort and hotel management courses or tourism and hospitality management qualifications. A two-day course, it is priced from $500 per person and is also available for industry to sponsor suitable employees to undertake. Globally recognised, this is the first time the dedicated analytics course has been offered in Australia and graduates can include the skills on their business cards and resumes.

Graduates of the course will be equipped with a thorough knowledge of foundational metrics, definitions, formulas and methodologies used by the hotel industry. Data from booking volumes, trends and areas of concern will be able to be dissected and analysed to better develop more in-depth strategies on which to act.

Those certified will also be able to understand benchmarking and performance reports which are generally used to improve service levels and drive long-term decision making.

The course will be offered on-campus under the tutelage of Lecturer, Faculty of Higher Education Emma Gronow – the only certified and authorised CHIA-course instructor in Australia.
