Avani Hotels and Resorts has released a sneak peek of its inaugural New Zealand property, Avani Metropolis Residences, which the company says is on track to open its doors in late November 2017.

Avani says 48 one- and two-bedroom apartments have already been refurbished out of Avani’s 100-key inventory.

“The refurbishment project is moving along on schedule and we are on track to open in late November,” said Avani Group Director, Alejandro Bernabe.

“We are looking forward to welcoming our first guests and launching the AVANI brand in New Zealand. This is an exciting time for us.”

Guests will certainly be delighted from the moment they enter the marbled foyer of this 1908 heritage-listed building, which was formerly the Magistrates Court of Auckland. The residential tower was completed in 1999 and is the tallest building (39 floors) in Auckland.

The refurbished upscale rooms feature spacious living and dining areas, well-equipped kitchens with laundry facilities and offer impressive views of the city skyline, harbour and beyond.

Facilities include a 22-metre heated swimming pool, indoor and outdoor spas, sauna and gym with male and female change rooms and a steam room.

The contemporary design philosophy of Avani has been brought to life by Interior Concepts, the firm appointed to handle the refurbishment project. The design focuses on an urban vibe with splashes of colour using the brands stylish plum pantone.

“A considered design has been developed to complement and accentuate Metropolis’ existing features and to create harmony and connection to the aesthetic viewed within the common areas,” said Interior Concepts Director, Amanda Monaghan.
