Quest Apartment Hotels has officially opened its doors in Eight Mile Plains, just days after ground was broken at the construction site of Quest Cannon Hill.

Quest’s expansion in Brisbane comes at an exciting period of growth for the city, and the state of Queensland more broadly, as it continues to make a mark on the global stage.

Doors have opened at Quest Eight Mile Plains, located at 1 Clunies Ross Court, increasing Quest’s offering in Brisbane by a further 90 rooms.

The brand new premium-quality apartment hotel is located within Queensland’s premier business park – Brisbane Technology Park, just 12 minutes from Brisbane CBD, with easy access to Technology Office Park, Garden City Office Park, Freeway Office Park and Market Square Dining District, making the property the ideal location for the corporate traveller.

Quest Eight Mile Plains franchisees, Nicole and Michael Carr expressed their excitement about being a part of the Quest network and having the opportunity to own and operate a property in the up-and-coming business centre of Eight Mile Plains.

“Opening Quest Eight Mile Plains is an amazing opportunity as we see Eight Mile Plains continuing to develop, fuelled by the Brisbane Technology Park, which hosts several large national and international companies. Eight Mile Plains is establishing a reputation as a highly sought after business centre for companies to base themselves,” Mr Carr said.

Developed by Greystone, Quest Eight Mile Plains features 90 apartments – a mix of studio and one, two and three bedroom apartments. The purpose-built property provides the perfect “home away from home” with fully-equipped kitchen, business lounge and on site gymnasium.

Quest CEO, Zed Sanjana, was pleased to open the group’s newest property, which he states only further exemplifies the robust confidence the leading apartment hotel operator has in Brisbane and the state of Queensland.

“Growing our base in Brisbane is a key priority for Quest with two more properties in the pipeline for the next two years – Springfield and Cannon Hill,” he said.

“Eight Mile Plains is on a solid growth trajectory, in terms of becoming a business centre for surrounding suburbs and Brisbane more broadly. Visitor numbers to Brisbane continue to increase year-on-year, with Tourism and Events Queensland recording 2.6 million international visitors in 2016.

“Brisbane is making its mark on the global stage and we want to ensure we are ready to accommodate our valued clients across all key hubs within the thriving city,” Sanjana said.

Meanwhile, Construction has commenced at the $24 million development of Quest Cannon Hill, located at 930 Wynnum Road.

The development of Quest Cannon Hill comes as part of the extensive expansion currently taking place in the suburb, as it establishes itself as a key business centre within the city.

The Southgate Business Park is a new $90 million business precinct in
Cannon Hill, hosting several major local and international tenancies, creating an increased need for short and long stay apartment hotel accommodation.

Mayor of Brisbane, Graham Quirk, was on site to mark the occasion. He was joined by developer and Ekkopoint Director, Ben McCarthy, Director Business Development & Asset Management at The Ascott Limited, Cheryl Chew and Quest Apartment Hotels General Manager – Growth, James Shields.

Mayor Graham Quirk said Cannon Hill is going through an exciting period of transformation, which will bring increased visitors to the area.

“The Cannon Hill Shopping Plaza redevelopment, valued at $2.5 million, combined with the $600 million East Village development, will provide increased shops, cafes, entertainment and approximately 1,000 apartments, creating a new leisure precinct and attracting local and international visitors,” Mayor Quirk said.

The property will feature 100 studio, one and two bedroom apartments as well as facilities including a conference room, business lounge, gymnasium and outdoor terrace with barbeque area.

Quest Cannon Hill is expected to open in 2018.
