Outrigger Hotels and Resorts is eyeing a return to Australia, with new owners KSL Capital Partners putting the nation at the top of their list of destinations to add properties.

Speaking a the Outrigger Resorts Global Showcase in Sydney, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts’ Chief Operating Officer, Paul Richardson, said KSL want to be back in Australia in the near future.

“It could happen anytime over the next ten years,” he said.

Richardson said Australia was at the top of KSL’s list of destinations in which it was seeking management contracts or asset purchases for future operating capacity and likely re-entry of Outrigger into Australia as part of a broad global expansion under the new owners.

He said beyond Australia, KSL had plans to boost its profile to Southern Florida, Southern California, Mexico and Hawaii.

The Global Showcase saw Outrigger Hotels and Resorts representatives from Hawaii, Mauritius, the Maldives, Fiji and Thailand join their Australian counterparts in promoting the network to key wholesalers and product managers, specialist travel agents, PCO’s, tourism industry partners, airline representatives and travel media.

Events were held in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, and the company communicated with almost 400 travel industry professionals during the week-long road show.
