New Zealand’s Hind Management is set to develop a five star hotel as part of a mixed use, greenfield development in Christchurch’s CBD.

The NZD$35 million project, set to open in late-2017, will comprise a five star apartment hotel, office building, retail space, restaurants and associated car parking.

The two, four-level towers will be located on the corner Montreal and Salisbury Streets, a prime location within walking distance to the heart of the CBD.

Hind Management and Sudima Hotels and Resorts CEO, Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala said the company intends to operate its key hotel brand, Sudima, at the location, with the hotel to be known as Sudima Christchurch.

“We are excited and proud to be sup-porting the recovery of Christchurch tourism to such a significant extent and hopefully our actions signal to New Zealand and the wider travelling world that Christchurch is returning to a first class tourism destination at a quickening pace,” he said.

The Sudima hotel will feature 86 studio apartments plus an additional two one-bedroom penthouses, for a total 88 apartments.

The development represents a further major investment in Christchurch by Hind Management and associated companies, which also operate the recently refurbished, 241-room 4.5-star Sudima Christchurch Airport hotel.
