Melissa Kalan is the Managing Director and founder of ARMA (A Revenue Management Association), providing revenue management support to the accommodation industry and educational institutions. ARMA provides –

Her background includes revenue management with Qantas Airways across both domestic and international networks where she controlled the prime Sydney – Melbourne route and profitable UK/Europe route for a number of years. Melissa also improved the functionality of the airlines revenue management system by designing a tool to prioritise changes in demand patterns.
Prior to Qantas, she was trained by Marriott in Washington DC when she took on the role as Director of Revenue Management for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Sydney and Double Bay.
In recognition of Melissa’s revenue management abilities, she was charged with implementing best-practice techniques at various Ritz-Carlton properties in the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore, Bali, Seoul and Osaka. This included training and providing recommendations to hotel management to ensure that a successful Revenue Management strategy was in place.
Melissa has assisted many properties with their revenue management goals. She also has experience in providing education and support to the holiday park and holiday rental markets with BIG4, Australia’s leading holiday accommodation provider a member of ARMA’s community.
With a genuine passion and interest for Revenue Management in the accommodation industry, Melissa is fast gaining credibility, developing a respectable list of speaking engagements and creating a growing network of revenue management focused professionals and organisations.
