British Airways is adding 4,000 seats a month to Australia on the back of upgauged flights from London to Singapore to Airbus A380 aircraft.

Speaking exclusively on video to HM, British Airways’ Regional Commercial Manager for the South West Pacific, Nicole Backo, said the debut of the A380 superjumbo to Singapore from the UK on October 28 was a win for inbound and outbound Australian tourism.

“It will give us an extra 4,000 seats per month to sell, which is not only fantastic for our Sydney customers, but also across Australia because of our code-sharing with Qantas to [and from] Singapore [on flights that] connect with the A380,” she said.

“It means much more capacity which is well needed out of that market.”
