Oaks Hotels and Resorts, a division of Minor Hotel Group, has opened its 48th property, the 4.5-star Oaks Rivermarque, marking the hotelier’s debut in the city of Mackay, Queensland.

The new-build, 138-room serviced apartment complex stands eight stories tall and offers both corporate and leisure travellers with contemporary, self-contained accommodation in a number of configurations, coupled with a range of deluxe onsite facilities including a sizeable indoor swimming pool, spa, well-equipped gymnasium, BBQ area, sundeck and business services.

“We are thrilled to welcome Oaks Rivermarque to our growing portfolio of central hotels and coastal resorts,” said Oaks Hotels and Resorts CEO, Brett Pointon.

“Mackay is a unique destination in that it is a growth corridor servicing a mix of leisure travellers wanting a taste of life in the tropics, and corporate visitors conducting business in the region’s key industries of coal mining and agriculture.

“We look forward to welcoming all types of guests to Oaks Rivermarque as they experience Mackay’s newest standard of accommodation,” he said.

An onsite restaurant and café is on track to open on 15 September 2014, along with the introduction of room service, which will be a welcome addition for guests seeking the convenience of onsite dining.
