Peppers Docklands Hotel Melbourne - breaking ground 2

Hamilton Marino has commenced construction on the Peppers-managed M Docklands in La Trobe Street, Melbourne.

Due to be completed in April 2016, the 19-level high rise hotel and residential tower will house a five-star hotel from Levels 2 to 5 and 186 residential apartments on the remaining floors.

Peppers Docklands Hotel Melbourne will feature 87 guest suites accompanied by an on-site restaurant, pool, gym and dedicated lobby with 24-hour reception and full-service concierge – amenities that will also be available for residents to enjoy.

It will be the first Peppers property in Melbourne and will join other metropolitan-based Peppers properties in the network in Launceston, Broadbeach and most recently, Canberra.

Developed by Capital Alliance and designed by award-winning architects Elenberg Fraser, M Docklands is Docklands’ fastest selling residential development that went from sales to construction in 9 months.

“We have seen renewed consumer confidence in the property market, especially in the Docklands precinct,” said Mohan Du of Capital Alliance.

“It was simply unaffordable to buy a property in Docklands; however since our now successful launch we’ve definitely seen a shift in the overall pricing structure of prime real estate simply by looking at what’s happening in the precinct, it is obvious that Docklands will become the future economic and lifestyle hub of Melbourne.”

Mantra Group’s Director of Development and Acquisitions, Michael Moret-Lalli said this was an exciting project for the Peppers brand and part of a strategic focus to grow its CBD network.

“Demand for rooms in Melbourne is forecast to outstrip supply over the next three years and the Docklands precinct has opened up as an exciting development opportunity and the ideal fit for the Peppers brand to enter the Melbourne market,” he said.

Peppers has four regional boutique retreats and resorts in Victoria in Daylesford, Dinner Plain near Mt Hotham, Torquay and the Mornington Peninsula. There are also seven Mantra apartment hotels in Melbourne CBD.
