Ikea Airbnb room - EDITED

Airbnb’s latest listing is the showroom at the Ikea store in Tempe, Sydney.

Promising guests a truly unusual experience, where the Ikea bedroom displays will be transformed into a quirky accommodation option as the store opens its doors to guests for one night only on Sunday 31 August.

“Airbnb gives people access to the most unique listings around the world from treehouses to yurts to villas, and now we’re adding Ikea to the list. The experience is sure to thrill any guest,” said Eva Ross, Local Operations Lead at Airbnb Australia.

Adding her personal touch to co-style one of the rooms alongside Ikea interior design experts, will be Airbnb host Claire Ferguson. The host brings experience from her Sydney home, which with its modern feel and a splash of colour has become a hit with travellers from around the globe.

The evening promises guests an inspirational evening, with tips and tricks on how to maximise their homes, not just for them but those looking for accommodation options.

“At Ikea we like to do things a little differently,” said Kristin Bengtsson, Marketing Manager for Ikea Australia.

“This year we’re turning the spotlight on our bedrooms and bathrooms, where we begin and end every day, so to celebrate the launch of our new year and the 2015 catalogue, we’re truly excited to be collaborating with Airbnb to create something special that we hope will inspire Aussies to make the most of the spaces they have in their homes.”
