Mantra Group’s six Melbourne hotels have fared well throughout the 2013 Australian Open tennis championship to date (Jan 23), averaging between 89 – 100 per cent occupancy, a steady increase on occupancy levels compared to last year according to the company’s Director of Sales, Kent Davidson.

“Typically, Mantra on Jolimont, located within five minutes walk of Rod Laver Arena, is the first book out but our other properties in Russell, Little Bourke and Exhibition Streets steadily fill up soon after,” he said.

“The Australian Open remains a must-see event on the sporting calendar and I’m sure our association with Pat Rafter puts our Mantra hotels top of mind when guests are looking for accommodation throughout the Open.”

At the event this week, Mantra Group hosted travel industry clients and travel managers to a day of tennis in the corporate box at the 2013 Australian Open with special guest, Mantra Ambassador and Australian tennis legend Pat Rafter, on hand to provide commentary for the afternoon.
