New rooms at Lasseters

Stage six of the AUD$35 million development at the Lasseters Hotel Casino in Alice Springs is nearing completion with the new 66 room hotel wing preparing to accommodate its first guests on July 16, 2012.

The two storey hotel wing contains 66 premium rooms and suites with views of the MacDonnell Ranges and golf course at one side and the new resort pool to the other.

The rooms have been designed to complement the stunning Central Australian environment and feature contemporary furnishing and ultra-modern appliances. Each room showcases original artwork from over 20 local Central Australian indigenous artists. Each of the 88 pieces featured tell stories of the artists personal experiences, people and their land. Ecologically sound sustainable building practises such as double glazed windows, solid concrete walls, energy saving lights and an energy eye movement system have all been implemented to reduce energy consumption.

Each of the rooms boast a king bed or twin queen bed configuration, free WiFi, 42inch LCD televisions, iPod dock, safety deposit box, fully stocked minibar, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, Austar and in-house movie options.  The three premium suites are split level with the lounge and entertaining area downstairs and two separate bedrooms upstairs. The hotel wing will bring the total rooms at Lasseters to 205 ensuring the Alice Springs region can accommodate larger conferences.

The next stage of the development will see works to the new 180 seat restaurant followed by the new hotel reception, VIP gaming room and commercial gym in the near future.
