Gavin Faull is the Chairman and President of Swiss-Belhotel International; he believes his company has gone through “substantial growth” over last five years. This has resulted in the expansion in regional offices located in Sydney, Australia; Jakarta, Indonesia; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Shanghai, China. The latest office to open was in Shanghai, China six months ago and now has over ten staff and will help Swiss-Belhotel International focus on the huge growth market of greater China.

In the last three years Swiss-Belhotel International has signed in excess of 30 properties from China to Indonesia and from the Philippines to the Middle East, is across 12 countries with more than 35 upcoming destinations.

Indonesia is showing the strongest growth with over 15 projects followed by China with eight projects.
Asia-Pacific is seen as having huge potential and projects in Australia and New Zealand are presently being investigated.

Specifically, Australia is a country that Swiss-Belhotel International would like to grow further.
Swiss-Belhotel International entered the Australian market over two years ago by acquiring management rights in a Sydney operation and is now actively looking to acquire further management rights in Australia.

Mr Faull says a major challenge at present is the lack of capital of new projects across the Asia-Pacific region as a whole.

The current challenge in the market is capital and this has caused development hesitation in many areas. The global financial crisis has had a huge impact but capital flow is now growing, being largely led by China. This is resulting in a perfect growth opportunity for medium sized management companies like Swiss-Belhotel International.
