On in Auckland 19-20 July 2017, this is the premium annual event for a hotel sector that is enjoying record results. It will inform, inspire and entertain, discussing and debating the big issues that can stimulate or stymie hotel sector growth.

It’s also a valuable networking opportunity, attracting more than 300 senior executives, hotel managers, owner-operators, developers, investors and advisers.

Delegates will be invigorated by keynote speaker Kaila Colbin. Kaila is the New Zealand Ambassador for Singularity University, a global community that empowers individuals and organisations with the mindset, skillset, and network to build breakthrough solutions that leverage emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and robotics.

Amongst Kaila’s many other roles, she is also co-founder and Chair of the non-profit Ministry of Awesome which helps start-up entrepreneurs turn ideas into reality, Curator of TEDxChristchurch and Chair of the New York-based Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. A native New Yorker, Kaila holds a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration and has been a serial entrepreneur since the age of 22.

A series of speakers will explore the modern hotel and the trend towards lifestyle brands, discussing the impact this trend will have on everything from the kinds of people hotels need to employ to the F&B offering.

There’ll also be a big focus on infrastructure – one of the sector’s hottest topics, with sessions on investment, including  new build vs conversion, and new insight which highlights the need for more hotel development to cater for record visitor arrivals.

Now in its 11th year, the New Zealand Hotel Industry conference is co-hosted by Horwath HTL and Tourism Industry Aotearoa, with Platinum Sponsor Scenic Hotel Group. On 19 July delegates are invited to attend the Hotel Forum and the Technical Seminar.

The 19-20 July conference will end with a gala dinner and the presentation of the New Zealand Hotel Industry Awards.
