Doma Group is set to expand its popular Little National brand to Newcastle through a AUD$45 million development in Honeysuckle.

The hotel will be part of a broader project, with the site set to contain both accommodation and residential apartments.

Doma Hotels Director, Patrick Lonergan, told HM Little National Newcastle would comprise 149 rooms, 62 one and two bed apartments and over 1000 metres squared of commercial and restaurant space.

“It has been conceived for the business, conference and leisure guest who demand smart luxury and high amenities in a super-prime location,” he said.

The hotel will be located on Newcastle Harbour at 42 Honeysuckle Drive, next to the Hunter Water building.

“We recognise that there is a community of travellers that seek a highly tailored and beautiful product that provides the essentials of accommodation with no compromises, but at a new price,” Lonergan said.

“We’re confident Little National Hotel will fill a niche in the Newcastle market and we look forward to welcoming our guests once complete.”

He said all rooms would feature a super-king size bed, wall-to-wall window, luxurious bathroom with rain shower and amenities, large HD Smart televisions, play-your-own smart devices direct, mood lighting, in-room safe, bar refrigerator and free high-speed WiFi.

The spatial layout of public guest areas including hotel library and lounge augment the experience of the rooms and have been designed to allow for various modes of use, from interaction with friends or other guests, to finding a quiet private space to work from or relax.

Little National Newcastle will be the 7th hotel for the Canberra-based hoteliers.
