Brisbane’s Sage Hotel James Street was officially opened in front of more than 200 people from the travel, corporate, arts, fashion and entertainment industries last night (Mar 23).

Set over 4-levels, the Fortitude Valley property features 93 boutique hotel rooms cleverly designed to allow maximum leisure space and storage in each room.

In an industry first, the Sage Style room – a multi purpose and flexible space has been custom-made to suit fashion, art or creative showings – ideal for local, interstate or international labels to host small VIP events or one-on-one showings.

The hotel lobby features polished exposed aggregate concrete floors, split aged and recycled sand stock brick and a stunning light design, The Knot by designer Karim Rashid, all combining to create a contemporary, semi-industrial look reflecting the repurposed warehouse design.

The artworks throughout the hotel show the details of a tortoise shell and are inspired by the Aboriginal name Binikinba-Ba which means “Place of the Land Tortoises”.

SAGE Hotel James Street have collaborated with KIT and ACE and Dinosaur Designs who have outfitted the SAGE team and each room embraces the best of the area to include textiles from MOKUM fabrics and touches of Dinosaur Designs homewares whose flagship Queensland boutique is also located on James Street.
