Perth Airport Pty Ltd is calling for expressions of interest to select a suitable hotel operator for the first hotel development on the airport estate.

Perth Airport’s current $1 billion redevelopment is focused on the first stage of the consolidation of all commercial air services to the Airport Central precinct near Terminal 1 and 2, and this provides a prime location for the precinct’s first hotel.

Later this year, Virgin Australia will move their domestic services to a purpose built pier at the western end of Terminal 1 next to Terminal 2 which offers regional and some interstate services.

To meet this shift in services, two suitable development sites have been identified and are situated between Airport Drive and Horrie Miller Drive. These sites have excellent exposure and ease of access to all passenger terminals and the Perth CBD.

Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches said, “Western Australians are regular users of commercial aviation including fly-in/fly-out workers, offering a unique customer base for a hotel development.

“We are keen to attract responses from strong performing hotel operators with demonstrated experience in operating a successful hotel business,” he said.
“Existing experience in an airport environment will be highly regarded in the evaluation and shortlisting process.

“We are ultimately seeking to develop one or more high quality hotels as part of our overall vision for the future of Perth Airport, and additional opportunities may exist at a later date to meet the needs of our customers,” he said.

Further information can be found here and expressions of interest must be received by 5pm, July 31 2015.
