Rydges Sydney World Square - upgraded executive room

Dr Jerry Schwartz’s Rydges Sydney World Square has just completed a major room upgrade.

With wall mounted flat-screen TVs allowing the hotel design to do away with bulky cabinets, Rydges World Square has gone all the way with its refurbishment of its Executive Rooms by installing glass-topped desks to create an open design that provides a greater feeling of space.

Providing even further room are the 37 Executive Balcony Rooms, which offer a rarity in the city centre – a balcony in Sydney’s CBD.

Over half of the hotel’s 454 rooms have been fully refurbished, with new furnishings, new carpets, upgraded bathrooms, new artwork, 50-inch LED TV screens and a new earthy colour scheme.

As part of the refurbishment, seven suites were turned into family rooms (bringing the total to 27), highlighting the popularity of the hotel for family city getaways. The family rooms comprise a King bed in the main room, a flat screen TV, and twin King-Single beds in the connecting room with a second flat screen TV.

The completion of the Executive Rooms and Suites refurbishment is part of a AUD$6 million upgrade of the entire hotel by owners, Schwartz Family Company, due for completion by the end of 2015.

The executive room and suite upgrade follows earlier refurbishments of the hotel lobby, conference rooms and the launch of the popular Cidery Bar and Kitchen.

The hotel is ideally located in the Pitt Street World Square shopping and restaurant precinct, within easy walking distance of Chinatown and Sydney’s cinema and theatre district, as well as city centre shopping and Darling Harbour.
