Accor’s Chief Operating Officer for the Pacific, Simon McGrath, says the new generation of Ibis hotels “hit the sweet spot” for what tech-savvy travellers are after across the globe at present and the newly-opened Ibis Adelaide is the shape of things to come.

Speaking exclusively to HM on video at the recent opening of Ibis Adelaide, McGrath said while the new hotel was the first developed for the brand since 2008, there was a lot more to come in the immediate future.

“We are starting to see more come online and this is the first wave of that next generation which is a very dynamic, fresh contemporary product and it really hits the consumers’ sweet spot,” he told HM.

In the exclusive video, McGrath also talks about development, the integration of the former Mirvac properties and much more.
