Marriott International has assumed management of Sydney’s Pier One hotel from Accor, following the decision of owner Bob Magid to switch hotel chains.

The move – which has seen a name change from The Sebel Pier One to Pier One Sydney Harbour – happened over the weekend (Feb 1) and the transformation was a rapid one, Marriott International’s Multi Property Vice President of Australia, Neeraj Chadha, exclusively told HM this morning (Feb 3).

Speaking to HM on camera, Chadha, said Marriott was excited to be now managing the property for Magid, a hotel that carries high expectations of success in international inbound arrivals markets.
